2. Principle: no networking code
Spurlos contains no networking code at all. The app is technically unable to send or receive data: there is no Spurlos server, no account, no tracking, no analytics SDKs and no ads. Your files and the metadata read from them never leave your device.
3. Which data is processed
3.1 Locally on your device
- The files you select and the metadata found inside them — held in memory only for the duration of the analysis or cleaning.
- A local history of cleaned files (file name, time, number of fields removed) and app settings.
- The purchase state of Spurlos Pro (cached so the app extension knows about it).
Your files may contain special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 GDPR — health information in a PDF, say, or location data revealing where you spend your time. This too is processed locally only, never stored and never transmitted.
3.2 Data processed by Apple
- App Store / StoreKit: When you buy Spurlos Pro, Apple processes your Apple ID and payment details. We receive no payment data, only whether a purchase exists.
- Photos & Files: Access happens through the iOS system picker — the app only ever sees the files you pick yourself.
- Shortcuts: If you use the Spurlos action inside a Shortcut, processing also happens entirely on the device.
3.3 Data not collected
- Location data · address book · microphone · advertising identifiers (IDFA) · crash or usage telemetry
4. Legal bases
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract)
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest)
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent, e.g. for file access)
5. Retention
History and settings stay on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall it. The contents of your files are not retained after processing.
6. Disclosure to third parties
There is no disclosure and no transfer to third countries. Purchases via the App Store are handled by Apple on its own responsibility as a separate controller, subject to Apple’s privacy policy.
7. Your rights
You have the rights under Art. 15–22 GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Since all data stays local, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
8. Security
Spurlos relies on iOS device encryption (Data Protection). We recommend securing your device with a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID.
